The website of the Isala Hospital in Meppel and Zwolle is largely inaccessible. Visitors notice that the pages almost constantly do not load, with occasional short moments when the site is accessible. The hospital is still investigating the cause.

It is noticeable that this morning the website of the Martini Hospital in Groningen was also temporarily down. That came according to Dagblad van het Noorden by a hack. A hospital spokesperson cannot yet say whether the problems at Isala are related to this.

Isala’s spokesperson emphasizes that the disruption has no consequences for patient appointments. According to the spokesperson, the personal patient portal continues to work as usual. For urgent questions, hospital employees can be reached by telephone and e-mail.

The hospital is working with the site supplier to resolve the website problems. “It seems to be going in the right direction, but we cannot yet rule out that there is a hack. We continue to monitor the situation closely,” the spokesperson said.

The problems at Isala follow an attack on the Martini Hospital in Groningen, where unwanted content briefly appeared on the website this morning. The hackers, who call themselves ‘Black Witch’, posted far-right messages and calls for participation in a Telegram group. According to Martini Hospital, the hospital’s internal systems were not compromised.

The same hacker group also claimed to have attacked several government websites in Kenya in recent days and claims to be involved in the theft of French government data.

Whether there is actually a hack at Isala is still being investigated. The hospital emphasizes that patient data is safe and that appointments will continue as usual.
