Fajah Lourens (44) is going further in the fight against wrinkles. She has had her face remodeled on all sides and it all looks quite unnatural now. “It’s addictive.”
It seems that Fajah Lourens cannot accept the fact that she is slowly approaching her fifties. She wants to stay young forever, but of course that’s not possible. The actress is now 44 years old, but tries to disguise this with all kinds of intense cosmetic procedures. She now looks like her face is being pulled tight with clothespins at the back.
Pushing boundaries
Sports psychologist Jan Sleijfer fears the worst. He points out that some athletes always see someone in the mirror who is not big or muscular enough. “At a certain point, people start to push boundaries without really seeing where those boundaries lie,” he explains in the New Revu.
He continues: “I definitely see a link there with someone like Fajah Lourens. She has been busy for years with fitness, perfection, discipline and control over the body. If you take it very far, it can happen that at a certain point you no longer see what other people see.”
Small correction
The outside world still saw Fajah as a beautiful woman, but she herself had apparently lost that. “Then you continue to strive for even tighter, even fitter or even more perfect, while the outside world thinks: why would you tinker with something that is already beautiful? It often happens gradually. First a small correction, then something else, then something else.”
He concludes: “Before you know it, you become accustomed to an appearance that begins to seem unnatural to others. Sports and the pursuit of perfection can become absolutely addictive, especially for people who strongly link their identity to appearance, health and performance.”
