The Union pros have been in the training camp in the Austrian Alps since Monday. The luxury accommodation “Das Neukirchen – Wildkogel Resorts” in Neukirchen am Großvenediger offers a special room concept.

The players live in multi-room apartments with two to four players. That promotes community.

The hotel advertises with the spirit of Campo Bahia, the German world champion quarters at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with individual houses for several residents. The iron ones are now making their camp based on it Campo Alpia.

For example, Paul Seguin (27), Paul Jaeckel (23), Laurenz Dehl (20) and Tim Maciejewski (21) live together as a foursome.

The two are striker Jamie Leweling (21) and goalkeeper Lennart Grill (23). Leweling: “In principle, everyone has their own room in the apartments. That’s good and better than everyone crouching around alone. That’s how you get to know each other.”

However, any player can also withdraw. Leweling: “If you don’t feel like it anymore, you go to your room. I like the model.”

The Union players are all housed in house 4 (name Grossglockner). Coaches and supervisors live in house 6 (Alpenland), from where they even have a view of the training ground.

The iron ones in Campo Alpia: Maybe a special winning spirit will emerge here too – like in the 2014 World Champion Camp.
