The military investigation opened a criminal case after the crash of the Mi-8 helicopter near the village of Dubki, Ulyanovsk region. About it reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

“A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 351 of the Criminal Code (violation of the rules of flight and preparation for them),” the report says. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to seven years.

According to the UK, the helicopter flew from the airfield of the village of Mulino, Nizhny Novgorod Region, to the Ulyanovsk Region.

The crash occurred on January 28 near the village of Dubki, which is located in the north of the region. A source TASS said that the helicopter made a hard landing on the ice of the Volga, 2-3 km from the coast.
