dr. B. (Bart) Snels becomes Inspector General at the Taxes, Surcharges and Customs Inspectorate. The Council of Ministers has approved the nomination on the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect on February 1, 2022.

Bart Snels was a member of the House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021 and financial spokesperson for GroenLinks. He previously held various positions, including senior editor at the Buitenhof television program, independent publicist and political-strategic advisor and director of the GroenLinks Scientific Bureau. He was also a policy officer at the Ministry of Finance and a lecturer in economics at the University of Twente.

Bart Snels studied General Economics at the then Catholic University of Brabant in Tilburg. He obtained his doctorate from Utrecht University.

This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
