In the intermediate round of the Youth League, three of the four remaining German teams have away games. Only 1. FC Cologne, who did not qualify for the knockout round through the league phase but through the championship route, is playing at home: against Inter Milan. This was the result of the draw on Friday afternoon at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon.
In contrast, the youth teams from Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt secured progression in the league phase with a final placement in the top 22. For FC Bayern (27th place), however, it was over. The Werkself and the SGE now have to go to Spain. While the Leverkusen team visits FC Villarreal, the Frankfurt team meets Athletic Club from Bilbao. BVB faces AZ Alkmaar. The Dutch won the junior premier class in 2023. The round of 16 will take place on February 3rd and 4th.
