Inter, Skriniar will not be there against Juve

Milan grit their teeth to enter the field in the final at Dragao, but will hardly be able to do the same against the black and whites. There will not even be Gosens and Sticks

Milan Skriniar is about to forfeit for Sunday evening’s match against Juventus. Another session is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, the penultimate before Sunday morning’s one in which set pieces will be tested, but the Slovak already gritted his teeth enough on Tuesday in Porto. Where he took the field in the final, when Bastoni was knocked out and Darmian was struggling with cramps. “You don’t know what Skriniar did to be here with us” Inzaghi admitted on the eve. History will hardly repeat itself because the left lumboglutalgia that had forced him to miss three league games (Bologna, Lecce and La Spezia) has returned to make itself felt and, even if there will be a break after Inter-Juve, gamble it would be dangerous. Because Inter is awaiting a “crazy” April with official matches every three days between the Italian Cup, Serie A and the quarter-finals of the Champions League. And Skriniar serves at the top. It remains to be seen if Milan will be spared by his national team who will play two qualifying matches for the next European Championships against Luxembourg (Thursday 23) and Bosnia (Sunday 26). The latter would be a derby with Dzeko.

MORE KO AND OUT

On Sunday there will not even be Gosens and Bastoni and therefore Inzaghi’s choices will be reduced. In front of Onana, a three-way defense with Darmian, De Vrij and Acerbi is probable, with Dumfries and Dimarco outside, Barella, Calhanoglu and Mkhytarian (in run-off with Brozovic) in the middle of the field. In attack, Lukaku is favored over Dzeko to support Lautaro. There is also the possibility of using D’Ambrosio in the back three if Darmian wasn’t at the top (but he was fine today) or if the former Lazio coach opts for a less offensive solution (Darmian instead of Dumfries). Chapter San Siro: Sunday will be sold out. Now a few dozen tickets remain available, but there are no doubts that there will be over 75,000 spectators and that there will not be an empty seat at the Meazza.
