Defending champions SSC Napoli have lost their lead in the Italian football championship – and have been pushed through to fourth place. Napoli lost 0-2 (0-0) at FC Bologna on Sunday and initially had to hand over first place to AC Milan, who had achieved a 2-2 draw at Parma Calcio the day before.

However, it didn’t stop there: In the tight Serie A title race, Roma beat Udinese Calcio 2-0 (1-0) earlier in the evening and, with 24 points, initially moved two points clear of Milan and Napoli (22). Later in the evening, Inter Milan moved past Roma with the same number of points with a 2-0 (1-0) home win against Lazio Rome due to the better goal difference.

Without the injured national player Robin Gosens, bottom-placed AC Fiorentina had to make do with a 2-2 (1-1) draw in the basement duel at CFC Genoa in their first game under new coach Paolo Vanoli. His predecessor was fired after the 1:2 loss in the Conference League at FSV Mainz 05.

Lautaro Martinez (3rd) and Ange-Yoan Bonny (62nd) scored for Inter, whose German international Yann Bisseck remained on the bench this time. The Dutchman Thijs Dallinga (50th) and the Colombian Jhon Lucumi (26th) sealed the champions’ third defeat of the season in Bologna.

Lorenzo Pellegrini gave Roma the lead with a hand penalty (42nd), Oumar Solet was unfortunate when he played the ball into his own arm. Zeki Celik made the decision (61st) against the guests from Udine, trained by German coach Kosta Runjaic.
