The importance of Inter-Parma
Inter-Parma is configured, surprisingly, as one of the most important challenges of the 35th round of Serie A. In reality, for the Emilians there is nothing left at stake. We could aim for tenth place, but salvation arithmetically already arrived last weekend. The young man’s boys Carlos Cuesta they played a good championship: ninth defense of the championship, despite a very skimpy offensive phase and rested on the large but sole shoulders of Mateo Pellegrino (8 goals).
THE’Inter instead they could take home the title very early thanks to the 10 points over Napoli and the 12 points over Milan. The simplest path would be a quiet victory at San Siro; with the 3 points, the tricolor would be officially sewn onto next year’s Nerazzurri shirt. Furthermore, if the Neapolitans were not to beat the aggressive Como, a draw would be enough for Inter (specialty of Carlos Cuesta…). Yet, the Milanese could become champions right from home. With Napoli defeated against the Como team and Milan not victorious against Sassuolo, the Nerazzurri snake would return champion after 2 years.
Inter-Parma has a historical peculiarity. The first official meeting between the two Italian clubs took place in Italian Cup and not in Serie A. To see the first match in the Italian championship we had to wait until 1990, the era of Trap, Nevio Scala and Lothar Matthäus. Thus, in the national cup of 1960 there was no story, as expected for the match scheduled for tomorrow evening at 8.45pm.
