Inter-Milan 1-0: Cambiaghi goal in the derby | Women’s Serie A

The Nerazzurre also hit two crossbars and redeemed themselves from the bad defeat against Juventus: it’s a big celebration in the new home of Guarino’s team

The Inter women’s team celebrates the “first” at the Arena Civica, its new home from today, with a victory in the derby against Milan and forgets the heavy defeat of six days ago in Turin against Juventus. Rita Guarino smiles, holding on to fourth place in the standings, while Davide Corti, replacing the sacked Mauro Ganz, begins his adventure on the Rossoneri bench with disappointment. The goal of Michela Cambiaghi, daughter of an artist (her father played for Milan and Messina) and also a striker for the national team, was decisive.

The match

For the Nerazzurri it was a deserved success given that, before the 1-0 scored by their number 36 in the 27th minute of the second half, they hit the woodwork twice with Csziszar (post) and Karchouni (crossbar). For the Devil, a bitter taste in his mouth for having failed to make it 1-0 with Laurent at the end of the first half, with the score still tied, and for the chance not realized by Vigilucci which could have led to a 1-1 draw. After 4 minutes of injury time it’s an Inter celebration with the Nerazzurri anthem blaring at full volume and the players under the curve jumping to the tune of “he who doesn’t jump is a Rossoneri”. Maybe it was written in the history of the club that it had to end like this.
