Milan (AP) – Thanks to a last-minute goal by Alexis Sanchez in extra time, Inter Milan has won the Italian Supercup for the sixth time. The champions defeated cup winners Juventus Turin 2: 1 (1: 1, 1: 1).

Ex-Schalke Weston McKennie took care of the leadership for Juve. After a cross from Alvaro Morata, the American headed in after 25 minutes. After Lautaro Martinez equalized with a penalty kick (35th), Alexis Sanchez made the acclaimed decision with his goal (120th +1).

It was the first time since 2004 that the two top teams faced each other again in the Supercup final. With nine wins, Juventus remains the most successful Supercoppa team ahead of AC Milan (7) and Inter (6).
