Paris and Inter have already taken more than 135 million euros this season of the premier class. The final is again about high sums – and a record.
The Champions League is not only sporty the elite event in European football. Financially, the premier class is extremely lucrative. Thanks to the new competition format and new UEFA distribution key, the two finalists Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have already taken up more money in this competition than ever before. In the end, the champion can get a record price of almost 150 million euros. For comparison: Last year’s winner Real Madrid took 138.8 million in 2023/24.
The winner of this year’s final receives 10.5 million euros. Of these, 4.0 million euros are officially considered a bonus for participation in the UEFA supercup, the duel with Europa League winner Tottenham Hotspur.
Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain were able to secure a solid financial basis due to their performance in the league. Inter completed this phase to fourth place, played more successfully than PSG (15th place) and thus benefited from more victory and higher table bonuses.
In addition, the path of both teams brought another 57 million euros through the eighth, quarter and semi-finals. A significant proportion of the total income also comes from special payments, which are composed, among other things, from the TV proceeds from the respective countries. Paris was slightly in front here, since French TV stations invested more in the rights than their Italian counterparts.
The participating clubs on the Champions League and the Supercup conceded 2.467 billion euros this season. Despite the field enlarged from 32 to 36 royal class participants, the income increased on average. In the previous year, a total of 2.002 billion euros had been distributed to the 32 Champions League participants.
