Intensive care bed occupancy in Brandenburg back in the green

The intensive care bed utilization with Covid 19 patients is back in the green area in Brandenburg: On Thursday, the Ministry of Health gave the value as of Wednesday at 9.9 percent.

Most recently, on March 11, this proportion was in the green at 9.6 percent. Otherwise, the yellow warning value was exceeded by 10 percent on most days this year. At the beginning of January, the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients was more than 20 percent when the alarm level was red.

However, the burden on the clinics with Covid patients on normal wards is still high: According to the ministry, 729 of these patients are currently being treated as inpatients, 72 of them in intensive care units.

The seven-day hospitalization incidence remained in the yellow zone at 5.89. This value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were admitted to clinics within a week.

The weekly incidence in Brandenburg was currently just under 1193. In the previous days, this number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants was more than 1200 within a week.

7,428 new corona infections were recorded on Thursday, bringing the total number registered to almost 686,000. With twelve new deaths, 5417 people in Brandenburg have now died in connection with corona infections.
