At first RB Leipzig made serious and afterwards a back, FC Arsenal Cristhian Mosquera (21) from FC Valencia has hired. The central defender changes for a transfer significantly below its market value of 30 million euros because his contract in Spain would have expired in the coming year. According to reports, the Gunners pay a total package of less than 20 million euros – 15 million euros are guaranteed.
At Arsenal, the transfer editions exceed the 150 million mark. This summer, only three clubs have invested in new additions worldwide. In front of Mosquera, Martín Zubimendi (26, Real Sociedad) for 70 million euros, Noni Madueke for (23, FC Chelsea) for 55.4 million euros, Christian Nørgaard (31; Brentford) for 11.6 million euros and Kepa Arrizabalaga (30; Chelsea) for 5.8 million euros. Coach Mikel Areteta can already welcome the third compatriot in his squad. Viktor Gyökeres (27, Sporting) should also be presented promptly as further access.
Arsenals sports director Andrea Berta said about the transfer: “We are very happy and enthusiastic about having committed an extremely talented young player with Cristhian Mosquera. We have identified Cristhian as one of the strongest young defenders in European football, and he is an important commitment to our future.” Mosquera is a versatile defender “who will strengthen our team. We can hardly wait to see him play for us. Together with everyone in the club, we warmly welcome Cristhian and his family to Arsenal”.
RB Leipzig was also on Arsenal access to Mosquera
Last season Mosquera stood in all 37 games in the starting eleven and always went over the full distance. Only one game missed the long -running favorite, who was the most valuable professional in Valencia’s squad with its market value. In the negotiations with RB Leipzig, this sum is also said to have been the transfer request thrown into the ring by the Spanish club. Too much for the Bundesliga club, which is why after consultation with the new coach Ole Werner was taken away from an obligation. Arsenal was successful in the second attempt after a 14 million offer was said to have been rejected at Valencia.
Mosquera was trained in Valencia and has been an irreplaceable regular since the beginning of the 2023/24 season. The six -time Spanish champion is said to have hoped for an extension with his own plant, but he wanted to take the next step. Arsenal gets one of the world’s most valuable central defenders up to 21 years.
