At the Care Organization Amarant, unmatered temporary workers may have been working. It is unclear whether this has led to problems. The Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ) tracked the situation in a national investigation into the use of hired staff within healthcare institutions.

According to the Inspectorate, Amarant possibly hires people without a declaration of behavior (VOG) and the right care diplomas. The organization says it is very shocked and announces measures.

Amarant now comes with tightened selection criteria and checks for employment agencies. The hired staff must identify with their next service. Furthermore, Amarant continues with samples to exclude that unqualified healthcare staff provides clients.

Staff shortages
Because Amarant is going to check strictly, staff shortages may occur. This could happen if temporary workers are no longer allowed to work for the care institution.

They must be able to show a VOG and the right care diploma. If they don’t do that, they will be sent home.

Bonus
To advance shortages, Amarant calls on its own permanent staff to work extra services if necessary. Allegedly they would receive a hundred euros bonus per service from the care organization.

Amarant says nothing about the money and emphasizes that they do everything they can to ensure that only qualified and screened care professionals work for Amarant.

For the time being, the controls at Amarant have not yet yielded any irregularities and all the hired staff were able to work for the care institution from Tilburg.
