Insiders warn in poker about Harry Kane

According to media reports, FC Bayern has now made an official offer for center forward Harry Kane. But the Munich bosses are facing a veritable negotiation marathon – also because of a conversation partner who is fighting hard.

FC Bayern initially failed with an offer for Harry Kane of 70 million euros plus bonus payments from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, as “The Athletic” and “Bild” recently reported. However, it is expected that the German record champions will by no means admit defeat and are now preparing another offer.

Meanwhile, the Munich team is not in the worst negotiating position: On the one hand, Kane is said to have signaled a fundamental interest in moving to Bayern in talks with the Bundesliga leader, on the other hand, Tottenham is under pressure given the contract period.

If the center forward does not extend his 2024 contract early, Spurs will have to agree to a change this summer if a transfer fee is to be generated.

FC Bayern face tough negotiations

Despite the good signs, a transfer of the 29-year-old seems to be difficult, estimates “Bild” reporter Christian Falk.

In an article for the “Caught Offside” portal, he speculates that the transfer volume could ultimately amount to 100 million euros including bonus payments. When drafting the contract, it will be all about the details.

Tottenham boss Daniel Levy, the first negotiating partner in Kane poker, is “very tricky” when it comes to details. He could demand additional payments, for example in the event that Kane wins the Ballon d’Or, says Falk.

This assessment is supported by “The Athletic” journalist Raphael Honigstein. As he explained in the “Bild” podcast “Bayern Insider”, Levy is one of the “most difficult negotiating partners on the island”.

The Brit could potentially risk losing Kane on a free fee next year, blocking any transfer offers this summer. At the same time, Levy is speculating that the attacker may still sign a new contract during the course of the season – and interested parties such as FC Bayern and Manchester United have already signed another striker and will not knock again.
