Insiders uncover weaknesses in Nagelsmann

In just a few years, Julian Nagelsmann has blossomed from being a nobody to perhaps the greatest coaching talent. The fact that FC Bayern is said to have paid the record fee of 25 million euros to RB Leipzig for the services of the just 35-year-old in 2021 underlines the standing Nagelsmann enjoys. However, he is currently experiencing a first crisis with Bayern. Words from some insiders are now adding fuel to the fire.

When it comes to communication, Nagelsmann is said to have a lot of catching up to do. This is revealed by “Bild” reporter Robert Schreier, who has been following Nagelsmann’s work for years, in the podcast “Bavaria Insiders“.

Already at the beginning of his career as a Bundesliga coach at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, the players found Nagelsmann’s handling of them “too hard to get used to”, reports Schreier, referring to statements by ex-TSG striker Kevin Kuranyi.

Nagelsmann was said to “over the course in Hoffenheim and then also in Leipzig from time to time that he generally speaks little to players and with substitute players a little less or not at all,” Schreier also reveals. An accusation that podcast host Christian Falk confirms. Nagelsmann is also accompanied by this accusation at Bayern Munich, according to the “Bild” football boss.

And that’s not all: With Yvonne Gabriel, another “Bild” reporter and Nagelsmann connoisseur has her say and fuels the unflattering statements. A Leipzig player once said to her: No matter how much and easily Nagelsmann communicates with the media, he “hardly” talks to the team.

Bayern Munich coach allegedly sees himself and the players as “service providers”

Quite surprising words, considering the otherwise extroverted appearance of the coach high-flyer.

“Players are there to be on the pitch and to carry out the coach’s instructions. That’s a bit of Nagelsmann’s self-image,” it continues. However, he also sees himself in the role of a service provider, Schreier continues. A philosophy that should be quite challenging for the stars on the pitch.

Technically, however, there should be absolutely no doubt about Nagelsmann. Kuranyi, who played no role under Nagelsmann in Hoffenheim, is said to still rave about the Bavarian. According to Schreier, Hoffenheim was a “high school” under Nagelsmann, before that it was a “secondary school”.

After his move to FC Bayern, Nagelsmann should have already found “high school”. However, the trainer and his team aren’t really getting the PS onto the road at the moment. Most recently, it put four winless Bundesliga games in a row. Almost historically bad for the German record champions.
