The first report of the fire was received by the fire brigade just before half past eight. “The ground floor of the house was completely on fire and was therefore destroyed. Part of the top floor also suffered significant damage,” reports a spokesperson for the Central and West Brabant fire brigade.
Also damage to the neighbors: roof had to be demolished
The house next door also suffered extensive damage, including from smoke and water. Part of the neighbors’ roof also had to be demolished to check whether the fire was not under the roof.
Residents of one of the houses were at home at the time of the fire, one person was injured and taken to hospital.
Where can residents go after a house fire?
Fire trucks from Halsteren and Bergen op Zoom came to extinguish the fire. Around the corner, fire engines from Bergen op Zoom were also busy with a training evening. They arrived on site very quickly.
The Salvage Foundation has been called upon for assistance in dealing with the fire. Temporary housing is also being sought for the residents of the homes.
