Initiatives want to stop the Till Lindemann show in Hamburg

“No Show for Perpetrators Hamburg” and “No Rammstein Berlin” have sent an open letter to the mayor of the Hanseatic city.

Till Lindemann is scheduled to perform his solo show in the Hamburg sports hall on December 8th. While fans are already looking forward to the event, others are not at all enthusiastic about the scandal singer’s concert. The initiatives “No show for perpetrators Hamburg” and “No Rammstein Berlin” have joined forces to persuade the mayor of the city of Hamburg, Peter Tschentscher, to cancel the gig.

With an open letter Lindemann should be prevented in Hamburg. In addition to the mayor, the Hamburg-Nord district office, as the operator of the location, and the Hamburg Senate were also addressed. The campaign was initiated by allegations of abuse against Till Lindemann (the Berlin public prosecutor’s office has stopped the investigation against the Rammstein frontman. The evaluation of the evidence did not reveal sufficient suspicion).

“There is a possibility that the system of abuse will continue.”

However, “No Show for Perpetrators Hamburg” and “No Rammstein Berlin” are not satisfied with that. Their letter states: “Numerous other people suspected of being affected have reported to media representatives and other bodies and say that they were invited to after-show parties by crew members either in advance or during the concerts or were systematically recruited.” They continue: “It is clear that the perfidious system of recruiting supposed sex partners for Lindemann has existed for over 20 years. Due to these long-standing, systematic levels of abuse of power, we are specifically calling for the cancellation of Till Lindemann’s concerts. The allegations have not yet been sufficiently clarified. There is a possibility that the system of recruitment and abuse will continue. These concerts are not safe places and must therefore be stopped.”

In addition, the letter points out that it would definitely be possible to cancel the Hamburg show, as well as all of the singer’s other planned concerts, because there have already been cases of cancellations due to political will. They refer to the canceled concerts of convicted sex offender R. Kelly in 2019. You can read the entire letter from the initiatives here find.

Canceled show in Kassel

Lindemann’s concert in Kassel on November 18th was canceled due to renovation work in the Nordhessen Arena. The city of Kassel explains that a permit is available for regular sporting events, but a special building permit is required if the building is used for anything other than usual. The city said it had requested documents, but some had not been submitted, which meant that permission for the concert could not be granted. The organizer, on the other hand, states that he submitted all the necessary documents, but the city administration was unable to check them in time.
