National coach Louis van Gaal will most likely take a seat on the bench against Denmark. The 70-year-old Amsterdammer contracted corona, but is allowed to stay out of isolation for Saturday’s game if everything goes well.
The isolation after a corona infection applies for a period of five days after the first complaints came to light. In Van Gal’s case, that was last Friday. The then still cold national coach tested negative at the time. According to the KNVB, Van Gaal can be released from isolation again on Thursday, provided that he no longer has any complaints.
After consultation, it was decided that Van Gaal could follow the training of the Dutch national team on location today. The national coach was driven to the training field in a blinded van and followed everything from a distance.
