German figure skater Nicole Schott has the best at the World Championships in Montpellier, France WM-Placement of their career at a glance. After the short program on Wednesday, the Essen native is sixth. So far, Schott had never made it into the top ten in world title fights.

Schott runs to personal best

Schott received a strong 67.77 points for her soulful, almost flawless short program, which is a new personal short program record for the six-time German champion. The German is even ahead of the Japanese after the short program WM– 2018 runner-up, Wakaba Higuchi (67.03 points), and double WM-Fourth Karen Chen from the USA (66.13 points). In sixth place, Schott is allowed to compete in the freestyle on Friday (03/25/2022) in the last starting group.

bulkhead: “Jumps were very easy”

“That was by far my personal best, also the jumps were very easy and the whole program had a lot of flow”said the 25-year-old, who was still suffering from a gastrointestinal infection after the Olympics. “It was hard to pull myself together after the Olympics and get back to the same level”according to Schott. “My goal was to finally show what I can do in training. I’m not a medal candidate, for me it doesn’t make a big difference if I’m 14th, 16th or 12th.”
