Individual criticism
After a brilliant start, the German players completely lose their thread. All parts of the team were affected. The DFB team in individual criticism.
Ann-Katrin Berger (goal): Was to be emotioned in the numerous counterattacks of the Swedes in the first half. Another time and again Blackstenius and Co. were approaching them alone. This visibly revealed them. Two fatal playback errors followed. It then looked traisely.
Carlotta Wamser (defense): Was involved in the very strong start of the German team. She prepared the leadership goal by Jule Brand exemplary. Like bitter: When Germany was countered at the score of 1: 2, she was alone on the goal line and reflexively fought out the shot. But she saw red and had to get off the field after 32 minutes.
Red! Carlotta Wamser has to get off the field.
Sarai Linder (defense): Had the demanding task to combat the highly dangerous right -wing attack side. Your interpretation: Simply attack yourself. In the first few minutes, as much in forward gear as not before in the tournament. Consequence: The Swedes were bound at the back. Extremely unhappy at the goal to 1: 2 when she shot Sweden’s Holmgren under pressure – it was almost an own goal. After the red card against Wamser, she switched to the other defense.
Rebecca Knaak (defense): It looked so strong for the first ten minutes and confidently – Knaak and her supporter Janina Minge had everything under control against the strong Swedish strikers in central defense. But then she had a real blackout in the Swedish equalizer when she simply let Blackstenius run away. After that nothing worked at Knaak. Replaced at the break.
Janina Minge (defense): After the great initial phase, went down with their side players when the fast Swedes were able to attack in the face of hair -raising German positional errors in overpayment situations and enforced the early decision. Like her colleagues then mentally struck mentally. Even played two bad passes in the structure – otherwise it almost never occurs with her.
Elisa Sense (midfield): What happens in the head of a midfield player when everything works in the first ten minutes, you almost play your opponents on the wall and then collect a single system with a single action (which is 1: 1)? The fact was: Elisa Sense no longer came into the duels after the 1-1, the Swedes had little trouble in midfield to cover the little fighter.
Elisa Sense went under.
Sjoeke Nüsken (midfield): Like a sideline Sense: first in the game, then in the swed woman’s attack vertebrae before the break. Tried again a tackle that was failed and promptly punished with yellow. In the second half, like everyone else, tries to limit damage.
Laura Freiegel (midfield): Started strongly into the match, was on the move in the front third and therefore easily playable. After the 1-1 goal, she suddenly could not be seen. It would have been advisable to drop deeper to close your own ranks. But she didn’t. In the meantime, also looked a bit weak. Replaced at the break.
Unhappy: Laura Freelgang
Klara Bühl (midfield): If a striker wants to help out in the back …. Extremely unhappy at Sweden’s goal to 2-1, when she wanted to rush her colleague Sarai Linder in a defensive duel against Smilla Holmberg, but that failed so that everything became confusing and resulted in the goal. A shame after the brilliant start, in which Bühl had a large part with its dribbles and clever passes. Tried again in the second section one or the other solo, but mainly had to defend.
Jule Brand (midfield): With a lot of train and determination to the goal of minute one. It was no coincidence that it was the one who crowned the early German storm run with the goal to 1-0. And then? Was fire out of the game. Was covered well by the Swedes acting in the majority and hardly had offensive campaigns.
Lea Schüller (attack): After two minutes with a huge scene when she put a great volley shot past the goal in centimeters. Two minutes later a next highly dangerous header, which sailed just over the goal. It was another Lea Schüller to see than in the Denmark game. Yes, and then the goal came to 1-1. And Germany’s offensive game really collapsed.
Sydney Lohmann (midfield) from 46. For free access: Worked bravely, was mainly busy stabilizing the defensive. That succeeded quite well.
Kathrin Hendrich (defense) from 46. For Knaak: Moved into the central defense next to Minge and made her cause properly. Overall, the German back team looked more stable at half -time. But that was also due to the fact that Sweden switched back a gear.
Giovanna Hoffmann (attack) from 63. For Schüller: As in the first two games when she came in with a lot of pleasure and energy. There was no longer a great impact on the movement, but that was no longer a big impact against the dominant Swedes.
Selina Cerci (attack) from 77. For Nüsken: Was allowed to show itself in the last quarter of an hour and also had a really good scene when she was sent in the 84th minute and came to a conclusion with her speed. Unfortunately, the ball raised over the goal.
Sara Däbritz (midfield) from 84. For Sense: Got a few more minutes, shone with a nice free kick. Of course, more was no longer possible.
