In this enchanting South African lodge you wait quietly in your pool for wild animals to pass | My Guide

Live.We may never have the money to live there ourselves, but we all love looking at and dreaming of a great home. That’s why we show an amazing home every Wednesday. Throughout the summer, the focus is on holiday homes where you can travel on your own. This week it’s a lodge in a South African game reserve.

Tswalu Kalahari is South Africa’s largest private game reserve, spanning some 111,000 hectares. It is located in the north of the country about 200 kilometers from the border with Botswana. With The Motse, Tarkuni and next year also Laopi, there are three places you can stay. In The Motse there are nine luxurious lodges for two to four people that can be rented separately or together. With natural materials, earthy colors and organic shapes, they blend perfectly into the landscape that seems endless.

The surrounding landscaped gardens are a haven for antelope and a watering hole off the main guest house is where wildlife come to quench their thirst. The suites all enjoy maximum privacy. Some have a splash pool from which you can patiently wait for a herd to pass. The terrace is also a great vantage point and those who are not so heroic can follow everything behind glass.

Central to The Motse is a communal building with a dining area, lounge, library, wine cellar,… Outside there is another fire pit to watch the sunset and an intimate BBQ area for dining afterwards. You can book from about 1,800 euros per person and per night. A stay contains a lot, such as all kinds of safari activities. Click here For more information.
