2024 was such a great year for Joanne van Lieshout that she was still reminded of it this month. The world champion was voted Judoka of the Year by Judo Bond Nederland (JBN) and at the beginning of April she even received an invitation of greatness Teddy Riner. The 22-year-old Brabantse was one of the guests of honor of the living legend who organized a charity tournament in Paris. All in all the perfect prelude to this week’s European championships.
