Naomi van Krevel immediately eliminated on World Cup Judo
1.15 pm: Judoka Naomi van Krevel is stranded in the first round at the World Cup in Budapest in the class up to 52 kilograms. The 25-year-old Judoka from Spijkenisse lost in the first round of the Spanish Ayumi Leiva.
Van Krevel won bronze at the European Championship in Podgorica in April. There was no decision against Leiva in the regular time, but the Spanish made the difference with a Yuko in the Golden Score.
On the second day of the World Cup, Van Krevel was the only Dutch participant. The day before, Amber Gersjes and Emiel Jaring were eliminated early.
Volleyball players lose in Nations League of China
10.59 am: The Dutch volleyball players have lost their third game in the Nations League. The team of national coach Joel Banks lost to the host country in Xi’an in China. It became 3-1 (25-19 25-20 13-25 25-17).
The Orange started the Nations League with a defeat (3-1) against Poland. Then the team won with the same figures from Turkey. The Netherlands is still playing against Japan.
Oklahoma City Thunder is the same in NBA final
09.59 am: The basketball players of Oklahoma City Thunder have won the fourth game in the NBA final. In the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the team of Indiana Pacers won 111-104. The stand in the best-of-seven series in the NBA final is 2-2 after four games.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was good for 35 points at Oklahoma. Jalen Williams made 27 points. Pascal Siakam came to 20 points at Indiana.
Indiana had won the first and third match of the final. Oklahoma recovered the balance in the stand in the second and fourth game. The fifth match follows on Monday (local time) in Oklahoma City.
Defending champion Bryson Dephambeau switched off on US Open
9.50 am: Defending champion Bryson Dephambeau from the United States is ready at the US Open in Oakmont after two days. The American golfer was the best in 2020 and 2024. Also Phil Mickelson, who came in second six times, no longer comes into action at the Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.
The American Sam Burns is in the lead after two days. He went around in 65 strokes on Friday, five strokes under the job average and is on three under par. With that he passed his countryman JJ Spaun, who was in charge after the first day.
DCHAMBEAU came to a round of 77 strokes, seven strokes above the job average. He finished after two days at ten above par.
Former winners Justin Rose, Matt Fitzpatrick and Dustin Johnson did not make it to the ‘cut’.
