“This is incredibly worrying, where is this boy going?” The police judge said about the 20-year-old man from Assen who drove far too hard through his hometown. The man did not appear. His lawyer.

The Assenaar was called for several suspicions. According to the public prosecutor at the end of June 2024, the man drove ‘like an idiot’ in his car through Assen. He drove more than 100 kilometers per hour where 30 was allowed, cyclists had to divert and the man drove up the roundabout, straight against the traffic.

In the meantime, the police were sitting on his heels. A blockade waited for him at the roundabout, but he managed to avoid it.

The agent on the roundabout looked in the car and recognized the suspect ‘one hundred percent’. But the suspect managed to escape. The man did get agents at the door in August. He was seen again during a drive, while it was known that his driver’s license was invalid.

The agents wanted to check who had driven now, the suspect or his girlfriend. The images of a bodycam show a swearing gun by the suspect. He insulted the agents to the bone.

The Assenaar could not get around the images, he confessed this part. Eventually the man was arrested because he called the emergency number on 30 August without necessity. Someone with a weapon would walk at a gas station in Assen. He was not the caller, the man said during the police interrogation.

His sister shortly before reported that she was threatened by the suspect and through the same number with which 112 had been called. The suspect can be seen on the camera images of the gas station.

The case was postponed by the police judge on 3 June to hear the girlfriend about the Dollemans ride by Assen. She was able to declare that her friend was not behind the wheel to the examining magistrate, they were gone that weekend. Every substantiation was missing. The public prosecutor found all the facts proven, including driving without a valid driver’s license.

The latter is a violation. He demanded a prison sentence of eight weeks and two weeks in prison for the violation. He also demanded a six -month driving cancellation. “I would not know how to do it differently,” the judge said and went into the requirement.
