Vice Governor of the Penza Region Sergei Fedotov was awarded a prize for refusing a bribe of 3 million rubles, reported TASS in the press service of the regional government.

Fedotov received a prize of 47.2 thousand rubles, the official transferred the money to the Rusfond aid fund.

According to the investigation, a bribe to Fedotov tried to give an employee of the administration of the Kamensky district. The woman wanted to get help from the vice-governor in winning the competition for the post of head of the district administration. Fedotov refused the bribe and reported this to the law enforcement agencies, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case. The official was placed under house arrest, according to the UK, she pleaded guilty.
