The Vloon competition had a special course. At an altitude of 5.70 meters he seemed to get stuck, but in the last attempt he still jumped over it. Then he was convincingly over the following heights and also jumped 5.90 meters. The height of 5.95 meters failed three times and then Vloon was in the waiting room.
The Greek Emmanouíl Karalís jumped the same height as Vloon and then Sondre Guttormsende Lat set at 6 meters, but he did not get over it. Vloon and Karalís chose to share the gold. “I went crazy,” says Vloon.

It was also a successful tournament for Jessica Schilder. The shot stick from Volendam immediately set the tone in the final with her first shot. With 19.97 meters she was immediately in charge. Her furthest bump was 20.69 meters and with that he was a lot of improvement. “I didn’t expect it,” painter shines. “You see the bullet landing and you look the other way and the king is looking at you. That is not normal.”
Painter completed the competition in front of King Willem-Alexander, who was in the front row. “I was shocked,” says painter about the special spectator. “Wonderful to experience it like that.”
