Meta Platforms currently has no plans to stop fact-checking social media messages in the European Union, including the Netherlands. The company announced on Tuesday that it would stop checks by independent organizations on Facebook, Instagram and Threads messages in the United States. The changes currently only apply in that country, a Meta spokesperson reports.
