In 1962 Roger (85) and Rosalind (79) saw each other for the first and last time, now they are getting married: “I didn’t know if she was still alive when I bought a ticket to New Zealand”

“Bloody hell, what a charming man!” That’s what New Zealander Rosalind Walker thought when she met the West Flemish sailor Roger Herman in her parents’ souvenir shop in 1962. After that they never saw each other again. Until Roger visited her again at the beginning of this year. After 61 years, the spark immediately flew again, and the two lovebirds now live together in Bruges. Together they tell their unlikely love story. “I didn’t know if she was still alive, but I had a list of all the addresses where I could find her.”
