American and British scientists have discovered a method to break down the environmental pollutants per- and polyfluoroalkyl fabrics (PFAS). Scientists report this today in a new publication in the leading magazine Nature. Moreover, they have even succeeded in recycling the fluorine that is in these ‘eternal chemicals’. This can then be reused in production processes. How did they succeed in this? And what is the impact of their breakthrough?
