Matera is hit by a new murder. The victim is Angelo Saraceno (Luigi Primiceri)an entrepreneur specialized in importing dairy products from Basilicata to the United States, shot in the chest. Imma dives in search of details and clues that can help her solve the case, but misses marshal Calogiuri (Alessio Lapice). Hippatius left on a foreign mission after the kiss who exchanged in the last episode of the first season, on the occasion of the Madonna della Bruna parade.
The deputy prosecutor doesn’t have time to come to terms with his absence, when Calogiuri returns to the city. Furthermore, the marshal would like to start a story with Imma, he confesses his feelings to her, but the woman is firm in her decision. The kiss was a mistake and they have to focus on the casewhich he eventually resolves despite the locals’ reluctance to cooperate.

Obviously the attraction for Hippatius hasn’t disappeared, but an extramarital affair would undermine the already precarious balance with her husband Pietro (Massimiliano Gallo). The latter is increasingly in an existential crisis, suffers from the absence of his wife – even if he justifies it, since it is work – and decides to change his life.
The work in the offices of the Region, in which he serves as a computer technician, no longer satisfies him and would like to open a jazz club in the family lamione. An extra grain for poor Imma, who tries to dissuade her husband from a rash choice, advising him to take a few months’ leave.
After setting the record straight with Calogiuri, professional complicity returns and everything seems to go smoothly. At least until the deputy prosecutor has to deal with jealousy. Accidentally throws Ippazio into the arms of Marshal Jessica Matarazzo (Ester Pantano) and who knows what might happen.

The battle of Imma Tataranni against Saverio Romaniello
Still, the daughter Valentina (Alice Azzariti) suffers from the separation from Samuel (Andrea Santacroce). To cheer her up, Imma organized a trip to Paris with her and her father, but not even the lights of the Ville Lumière were able to restore her smile. Fortunately her path crosses with that of her schoolmate Giovanni Paolillo (Marco Todisco), the only one able to give her some serenity.

In the end, Imma Tataranni continues her battle against Saverio Romaniello (Cesare Bocci). The man is accused of attempted environmental disaster, in cahoots with organized crime. In fact, he is accused of having developed a plan to bury tons of toxic waste, thanks to the complicity of local entrepreneurs and politicians.
Furthermore, is accused of the murders of Don Mariano (Antonio Gerardi, who left the scene in the first season) and Pasquale Iannuzzia key witness who allowed Don Mariano to uncover the criminal plan.

After the success of the first two seasons, which consecrated Vanessa Scalera on the small screen, the series does not close its doors, but continues. Filming of Imma Tataranni 3 they began on 13 March in Matera and will continue until the end of April. The new cycle foresees eight episodes of 100 minutes each.
As far as broadcasting is concerned, Rai 1 viewers will have to wait a few more months. The exact date has not yet been revealed, but it is plausible that the series will find its place in the schedule in the season 2023-2024.
