Patty Brard hints at the Shownieuws desk on a return to RTL. She is having dinner with Peter van der Vorst, the channel’s outgoing program boss. “So he still does that!”

Patty Brard, who is already 70, has worked for RTL for a large part of her TV career, where she made programs such as Brard Gaat Extreem and Patty’s Fort. The presenter was put aside in 2006 after seventeen years, after which she was recruited by SBS 6. She was about to sign exclusively with RTL again in 2019, but that fell through.

Last signature?

It could be that Patty will return to work for RTL. That came to light last night Show newswhere Martijn Krabbé’s new RTL contract was discussed.

When a photo of the contract signing showing, among others, Martijn and RTL’s TV boss Peter van der Vorst comes into view, presenter Tooske Ragas notes: “That is Peter’s last signature in that position.”

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker: “In that position, yes.”

Worth much more

Patty then makes a very mysterious comment. “But I’ll tell you: I happened to speak to Peter today and his signature is becoming more valuable. Trust me.”

Tooske: “Okay, can you add anything to that? This sounds very exciting.”

Patty: “Yes, well, that it will be an international signature. His position may be taken, but it is not the case that he will be removed.”

Connection

Guido also states that Peter still retains a lot of power. “No, definitely. He will be the connection between the Belgian and Dutch branches. I happen to work for the company. It is just a position that cannot really be placed in an organizational chart, but he will in fact remain in charge.”

Tooske: “But he probably won’t do these kinds of things anymore.”

Eating with Peter

Tooske’s comment is also contradicted by Patty. “Umm, well, I don’t know. I’m having dinner with him this week, so he’ll do that too. Hahahaha.”

Bram Moszkowicz then: “Then you will get another signature!”

Tooske: “Well, we’d like to hear more about that.”
