Iltalehti follows live the festive buzz of Linna’s celebrations on Independence Day on December 6.

You can follow this story live starting at 5 p.m. from Iltalehti’s studio.

The castle’s festivities will now be held for the first time since 2019. The Independence Day reception was on hiatus due to the corona pandemic in 2020–2021.

Iltalehti journalists report on the celebrations inside the Presidential Palace Jari Hanska and Miia Vatka.

This year, the theme of the reception is self-confident Finland. The number of guests is about a third lower than in previous years. About 1,300 people from different parts of Finland are invited.

The evening continues later with the continuation of Linna’s celebrations at hotel Kämp.

Contrary to tradition, Yle will no longer show Linna’s sequels live on its television channel. However, Iltalehti follows the proceedings live from the hotel. Iltalehti editors Mari Pudas and Sonja Saarinen.

As in previous years, there will be food, drinks and performers, and after the dinner for invited guests, Kämpi’s doors will also open to other guests.
