Thirteen illegal taxi drivers were arrested on Saturday evening in Den Bosch and Eindhoven. They were caught while they transported carnival lovers without a permit. One of these so -called Snorders also appeared to be driving under the influence of drugs.
All caught illegal taxi drivers can look forward to a fine of up to 4400 euros. If they are caught again, a fine of no less than 10,000 euros will follow.
In addition, regular taxis were checked on Saturday evening. In addition, 53 official reports were drawn up because of, among other things, an expired inspection of the taxameter, driving without a map, a faulty registration, driving at too high a speed, ignoring a red traffic light and driving without a seat belt.
There were also seven under the influence of drugs among these regular taxi drivers. A large amount of drugs was discovered for two taxi drivers. They are both fixed for further investigation.
