Ifo: Export expectations continue to fall

The mood in the German export industry continues to decline.

The export expectations of the companies surveyed by the Ifo Institute fell from minus 6.5 points in August to minus 11.3 points in September. This is the worst value in three years. “Exports to all important regions are currently declining,” said survey leader Klaus Wohlrabe on Tuesday in Munich.

Accordingly, only the manufacturers of leather goods and furniture as well as some companies in the food industry are expecting an increase – all other sectors are expecting a decline. (dpa)
