‘Iceman’ Gerwyn Price chooses a striking new emergence song | Darts

Darters often choose the music with which they enter the stage very consciously and sometimes the combination turns into a real hit. Just think of Raymond van Barneveld with Eye of the Tiger or the hardcore of Dirk van Duijvenbode. For Price, ‘Ice Ice Baby’ fitted his nickname perfectly.

However, the Welshman now opts for something different, namely ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry.

“I was driving home with my seen after a snack in Cardiff when ‘Roar’ came on the radio,” Price told the PDC. “We all sang along and I loved the beat of the song, so I immediately thought, why not change it? I then looked up the lyrics and found that they fit me and my playing. Hopefully they can give me a fresh start in the Premier League.”

Price is currently sixth (out of eight) in the premier darts league, with seven nights to go. Only the top four will advance to the play-offs.

“No one really stands out,” said ‘The Iceman’. “In the second part of the campaign, it’s time for me to get back to the play-offs. I have every confidence in it. Win a few times and I’m back in the top four. The form is there too, I only have two weeks left with my wrist injury. I look forward to finally being rid of that.”
