Ice hockey players Amsterdam Tigers eliminated on their way to national title

It was an exciting game between the ice hockey players of Amsterdam Tigers and Eindhoven Kemphanen in the Jaap Edenbaan. After a long game with many penalties handed out to the players, the pot ended in 1-3 for Eindhoven. With that, the team from Amsterdam has been eliminated and they no longer have a chance of winning the national title.

20 minutes after the start, Eindhoven takes the lead. In the second period they manage to score again, but the team from Amsterdam does not give up and keeps it exciting. Towards the end of the third period, the team from Amsterdam finally score. In the last minutes of the game, Eindhoven scores from its own half, the game ends in 1-3.

“It was a tough game. Eindhoven is just a good team and it’s always hard. If you lose like this, it’s just a pity”, says Lance van Duin and player of Amsterdam Tigers. Zeb van Duin talks about bad luck: “On the ice I had the feeling that we were the better ones, but the scoreboard says otherwise.”

The two rivals have played a total of three play-off games against each other, of which Eindhoven won twice. That means that the people of Eindhoven have secured a place in the final after last night’s win.

Although it was the last game for the Amsterdam Tigers, they are not done yet. The team is already starting preparations for next season. “We are all going to enjoy and enjoy the ice for the last few weeks and of course also prepare for the next season,” says Van Duin.
