The Bremerhaven team lost 0:4 (0:2, 0:2, 0:0) to the Lower Saxony team in their home ice arena. Shortly after the start of the middle third, the North duel was decided.
On Wednesday evening, Bremerhaven fell behind in the 5th minute of the game due to a power-play goal from Spencer Machacek. However, the Penguins left two of their own power plays unused. On the other side, ex-Bremerhaven player Justin Feser did better and increased Wolfsburg’s lead to 2-0 (12th minute).
Lynch puts together the double pack
Shortly after the start of the middle period, Robert Lynch extended the guests’ lead to make it 3-0 (22′). What’s more: In the 35th minute, Lynch scored a brace with his second goal. The final third remained goalless.
Due to the defeat against their northern opponents, the Penguins remain at 36 points after 22 games. With seventh place in the table, the Bremerhaven team is currently in a pre-playoff place.
