Ricardo Hendreschke (Dresdner Eislöwen, 32) against Maxim Rausch Fischtown (Penguins Bremerhaven, 53)

As of: January 6, 2026 10:18 p.m

The Dresden Ice Lions suffered their next home defeat. In a duel against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven that was tough for a long time, the Saxons woke up too late at 2:3.

After a goalless opening third in which clear chances remained scarce as the defensive lines dominated, the visitors struck ice-cold in the 26th minute through Rayan Bettahar, who hit the near corner. Dresden then continued to struggle on offense against the Pinguins’ consistent defense and conceded 0-2 to Miha Verlic four seconds before the end of a power play by the guests (44′).

Yogan and Johannson shorten

In the 51st minute, Andrew Yogan used a rebound to celebrate the goal, which once again fueled the hosts’ hopes. But Christian Wejse (53′) restored the old distance for Bremerhaven with a shot under the crossbar. Dresden now threw everything forward again, but it was only enough to make it 2:3, which Emil Johannson scored with a hammer of 140.7 km/h.

The defeated bottom of the table now continues on Saturday in the winter game against the Eisbären Berlin in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
