The Huvila & Huussi program has been visiting Finns’ cottages since 2008. Along the way, there have been a lot of different destinations, and in the program’s spinoff series Parhaat remontit, the creators reminisce about the most memorable projects over the years.
In the episode, family cottages are discussed and how to build a sustainable future for cottages. The discussion also turns to which items over the years have caused the experts to panic. Landscape designer Eva Wuite reveals which object he would have immediately wanted to disappear from.
– When I saw the framework, and heard the wishes and the information about the budget for the whole rempa, I thought that we should go home right away, Wuite shakes in a straightforward style.
It was the cottage yard seen in the sixth season of the program, which was very modest.
– Money was limited, so one of the tasks was to keep the courtyard area as small as possible, Wuite recalls.
Wuite says that he was ultimately satisfied with the end result.
Yard contractor Niko Lindfors on the other hand, he says that he was much more optimistic than Wuite about the object in question right from the start.
– Maybe I saw it a little differently than Eva. I knew it was a pretty limited budget, but I saw it as a pretty easy project. There was gravel, and it was a pretty small, flat lot. I thought that there probably wouldn’t be any wonderful foundations to be made there, either
Also a regular member of the Huvila & huussi team Grain Shepel tells in the episode how his favorite show has ruined his vacation.
