In 2018, Grimes and Musk were seen together for the first time on the red carpet at the Met Gala. An event that heralded the beginning of a chaotic relationship between the richest person in the world and the Canadian singer. Four years and three children later, the couple finally ended the relationship – and plunged into a dispute over the custody of the three children X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl and Tau Techno Mechanicus. The dispute ended in the summer. Neither side has yet announced exactly how it ended.

But if that wasn’t chaotic enough, rapper Azealia Banks decided to vent her anger towards Grimes via X. In a series of tweets addressed directly to Grimes, which the 33-year-old made public on December 26th, she doesn’t say anything good about Boucher.
Banks suggests that Musk has been cheating on Grimes for years, kidnapping the children and abandoning them multiple times, while Grimes is still trying to establish Banks as the bad guy. The rapper also writes that Boucher lives in “white female delusion,” doesn’t make her own music and wouldn’t get over Musk, even though he forced her to beg for her children in front of the world.
Banks publicly insults the Canadian singer as a “whore” and “slut” and calls Musk a drug junkie and “crack daddy”. At the end of her tirade against the 36-year-old, Banks compares Grimes to Lady Gaga: “So no sis, you are Lady Gaga’s sick level of white art. It was never you lmao. Stop deceiving yourself, sis.”

The internet held its breath, but Grimes didn’t wait long for an answer. On the same day, the “Genesis” interpreter responded to the attack: “It’s just a funny joke, brother. I’m not trying to portray you as a villain. I wasn’t dumped. I left. My beautiful baby is sleeping in my bed next to me, I’m in love. I regret nothing. Life is as beautiful as you want it to be. You are incredibly talented. Even after all this, I still want you to win. God bless Mlady”

Many users commented on the surprisingly peaceful post. Some admire Grimes for her indifference, others joke about the term “Mlady”. One user commented with a smile: “She (Banks) lives to be problematic… that drives me crazy.” To which Grimes just casually replies: “She’s the best hater in the world. The da Vinci of insults. At some point I just gave up and accepted that I could appreciate the madness of existence.”
