The former president of the Generalitat Carlos Puigdemont has responded to the words of the Minister of the Presidency, Felix Bolanos, who has said that he is “every day further away from Catalonia”. “I’ve still been lucky: others from his party were kidnapped, tortured and killed. And they buried them in quicklime”, Puigdemont responded in reference to the GAL.
This morning, in statements to La 2 and Ràdio 4, Bolaños called on Puigdemont to to return to Spain and be held accountable before the courts, although he has said he does not know “what the former president has on his mind”.

From Twitter, Puigdemont has answered the minister, to whom he has suggested “document yourself a bit” to find “arguments” to criticize him “in a more consistent way than the denigration and contempt that they are used to practicing.”

In the same interview, Bolaños has praised the “courage” by Aragones to bet on dialogue “with different” and not having “stopped the clock in 2017” as he does consider that the ‘expresident’ has done Carlos Puigdemont. In any case, and as he defends every time he has the opportunity, his reading of the situation is that Catalonia has already “turned page” of the conflict and is now focused on other urgent issues.
