During the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala, Lale Gül always appeared on screen with a phone in front of her face, she was so busy making videos and photos. Why? “Didn’t know it was on TV.”

RTL Tonight broadcaster Lale Gül was also allowed to sit in Carré this week to attend the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala. She was photographed several times and we always saw her sitting with a phone in front of her face. Why did she take so many photos and videos and not choose to watch it all again at home?

‘I didn’t know that’

Renze Klamer asks her RTL Tonight. “You’re filming everything, while I think there are 80 cameras!”

Lale then: “Yes, I was playing the tourist! I didn’t even know I was on live TV, so you see me all the time as some kind of moron with that phone.”

Renze: “You know it’s a television broadcast, right?”

Lale: “No, I just didn’t know that.”

2.5 million people

Renze doesn’t know what he hears. “You didn’t know it was a television broadcast?”

Lale: “No.”

NU.nl entertainment chief Lara Zevenberg: “You thought you wouldn’t be shown?”

Renze: “You thought it was only for Carré? 2.5 million people are watching it!”

Lale: “Yes, I know a lot!”

Frits critical

Frits Wester does not seem to fully understand the situation. “Explain to me: if you’re on a TV broadcast, why do you film it yourself? You can just watch it at home, right?”

Lale: “Yes, so I didn’t know it was on TV.”

Renze: “Didn’t you see all those cameras there?”

Lale: “Yes, at some point.”

‘Again!’

Frits wonders whether this is a misunderstanding. “Wait a minute, one more time: you didn’t know this was all being broadcast on TV? What we’re doing here is also live on television.”

Lale: “Yes, so I never watch that gala. Apparently I never saw it on TV.”

Renze: “Do you want to film now? It’s allowed. You were in the picture quite often and usually with that phone.”

Lale: “Yes, really embarrassing actually!”
