Jan Slagter, the boss of Omroep MAX who continuously stands up for all kinds of male celebrities who commit missteps, promises that he will not defend Ali B in TV talk shows.

If you have been canceled as a celebrity, you know that there is only one place left where you can try: Omroep MAX, the anti-woke broadcaster of Jan Slagter. He really stands up for anyone who has made a mistake. Well, except Ali B. What about that? Doesn’t he like putting the rapper behind a jury table somewhere?

Jan refuses Ali

Ali might be able to cuddle with the candidates of Heel Holland Bakt or drive that boat of André van Duin and Janny van der Heijden. Then he has something to do again. Or is this even going too far for Jan?

Yes, he indicates in it A.D. Jan doesn’t want him at the Christmas party. “To be clear: if it concerns proven sexual misconduct, I will never stand up for anyone. You didn’t see me defend Ali B. on television last year. That’s where the limit is.”

Rape

Okay, so rape is the limit for Jan, but otherwise misbehaving celebrities can report him. “I have respect for the two hundred people who reported to the Van Rijn Committee and told their story there. But there are thousands of people working at the public broadcaster, they haven’t talked about that.”

“My colleagues at MAX did not recognize themselves in the report and felt attacked. The whole of the Netherlands now thinks that Hilversum is a Sodom and Gomorrah, that is nonsense.”

‘Matthijs is great’

Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, for example, really needs to be rehabilitated, Jan believes. “Once someone has been punished and apologized, then it’s over. Matthijs, for example, has not been criminally convicted, so I think: stop it! He’s not a bad person.”

“If other people think something about it, then they should do so. By the way, this criticism of my performances can mainly be read at X and here in Hilversum. People come up to me on the street and say: ‘Mr. Slagter, you were right.’”
