Adi Hütter has received a new contract at AS Monaco. The Ligue 1 club announced the extension until 2027 on Saturday. For Hütter, despite frequent defeats in recent weeks, it is an award for his successful record with the Monegasques, which currently holds a curiosity in the second year of his term in office.
In the current season, Monaco scored 30 points and a goal tally of +10 on the first 16 matchdays under Hütter. This is exactly the same yield that the Austrian’s team had at the same time last season. At that time, after 16 games, they also had 30 points, nine wins, three draws, four defeats and ten more goals scored than they conceded. At that time there were five more goals each on the credit side and after goals conceded, but the place in the table is again the same; Third place.
After stints in Altach and Grödig, Hütter had his breakthrough as a coach at RB Salzburg and BSC Young Boys, which was followed by three years at Eintracht Frankfurt from 2018 and a mixed season at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hütter moved to Ligue 1 in Monaco in the summer of 2023 as one of the highest paid coaches in France. In spring 2024, “L’Équipe” put the Vorarlberg native’s gross monthly salary at 250,000 euros; At the time, he was ranked second behind PSG coach Luis Enrique, who was given a gross salary of over 900,000 euros per month. With the new contract, Hütter is likely to have improved financially again.
In terms of sport, Hütter’s Monegasques have caused a sensation this season, especially in the first quarter of the season. They won six of the first eight games and didn’t lose a single one. In the eight games that followed to date, however, they left the pitch as losers four times. Les Rouge et Blanc are currently in third place in the table – ten points behind leaders Paris. On the seventh matchday, PSG were briefly pushed out of their place in the sun.
