The husband of teacher Irma Garcia, the teacher who died in the shooting in Uvalde two days ago, has died of a heart attack. American media report this on the basis of a family member.
Irma Garcia, 46, was one of two teachers killed in the Texas shooting, when the gunman holed up in her classroom and started shooting around.
American media now report that her husband also died on Thursday. He would have died of a heart attack. According to a GoFundMe page set up by Irma’s niece, the man died of a “broken heart.”
The couple had been married for more than 24 years and have four children.
