Hunter in top ten after dream lap in Detroit

After a dream round at the lucrative PGA tournament in Detroit, golf pro Stephan Jäger achieved his second top ten placement of the season.

The US-based Munich native played an impressive round of 63 to close out the Rocket Mortgage Classic and finished the $8 million event with a total of 270 shots in tied ninth place.

With seven birdies and an eagle, the 35-year-old set the course record at Detroit Golf Club. “It was a great round. I just like the golf course,” said Jäger, who even finished fifth in Detroit last year, on “Sky”.

American Rickie Fowler won the par 72 course. The 34-year-old Californian prevailed in the jump-off against his compatriot Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin from Canada.

Previously, the three golfers each needed 264 shots for the four rounds. With his sixth win overall on the PGA Tour, Fowler ended a four-year streak without a win on the US series.
