The Metzingen fashion group Hugo Boss AG has entered into a long-term partnership with the Italian professional tennis player Matteo Berrettini. On Monday, the company announced that the current world number seven will act as global brand ambassador for the Boss label. From the coming spring-summer season, the Italian will also appear in global advertising campaigns.

In addition, Boss and Berrettini bring a joint capsule collection onto the market. The “Boss x Matteo Berrettini” collection will be available online and in selected stores from January 17th and will include tennis clothing as well as “off-court essentials” and accessories, the company said. One percent of the sales proceeds should therefore go to a foundation with which Berrettini wants to support children in need in Italy.

“Matteo Berrettini is a great personality on and off the tennis court and we are more than excited to be working with him in the years to come,” said Daniel Grieder, CEO of Hugo Boss, in a statement. “His attitude and demeanor are incredibly impressive and make him more than just one of the best tennis players in the world. Matteo embodies what a boss stands for today: He shows a strong will, makes the right decisions and inspires people all over the world. Therefore, Matteo is not only a role model, but also suits Boss perfectly. “
