Australian actor Hugh Jackman and his wife, the director Deborra-Lee Furnessannounced this Friday that they have ended their marriage amicably after 27 years of marriage.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful and loving marriage. Our journey is now changing and we have decided to part ways to pursue our individual growth“, the couple declared in a joint statement published by ‘People’ magazine.
In the letter they have assured that their family will continue to be their “higher priority“and they have reported that it is the only statement they will give in this regard, so they asked for privacy.

Jackman, 54, and Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, have two children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18. The couple met and fell in love in 1995, when they both They starred in the series ‘Correlli’. Lee was then an established actress and Jackman a new promise. In less than a year they got engaged and their wedding took place on April 11, 1996.

The interpreter, who has participated in films such as the ‘X-Men’ saga and ‘Immortal Wolverine’, published an emotional message on Instagram last April celebrating his 27th wedding anniversary, in which he highlighted the “beautiful family” that they had formed together and showed admiration for Lee.
